The Epic Collection Photoshoot | Pt. 1

Thursday was the accumulation of all the work I've been pouring into the KFD Summer Collection for the last several months.  The first Official Kellie Falconer Design photoshoot.

Looking back, I wayyy overshot the mark - I planned, and prepped, and packed myself to exhaustion, and ended up having 75% more props and accessories for the shoot than I actually needed.  But that's better than the reverse, right?  I put everything I had into this, and already, I have some really exciting ideas bouncing around in my head for the next one, improved by the experience I earned during this project.
And though stressful and a bit exhausting, it was So. Much. Fun.
Sewing, sewing, sewing
My tent's been a pile of sewing lately.  Heaps of pretty things to sell... what felicity!
I'm afraid my poor piano's been neglected a bit, though... there's no denying it.  Must do something about that, and soon!
Then, Thursday morning, the photoshoot crew assembled in the tent - besides my sisters and awesome bro Aubrey, we had Emily, Tasha, and Alex join the fun.
Hairstyling, car packing, and last-minute list crossing took place, then we all piled in the car and headed off to our location.  Singing, laughing, and relishing the day ahead promising a great picnic lunch for the boys, dress-up and smiles for the girls, and for me, the realization of a dream.
Did I forget to mention Algy?  He came along, of course.
I'm pretty sure I'm falling with love...  Why else do I feel empty and lost if I go anywhere without him?
Not to mention, the little trick he has of making everything I do look about 100% more amazing than it really is.  I'm starting to think I can't live without him...

Thanks, Algy.
Tasha brought some adorable crocheted creations from her shop, Wool & Whatnot, as well!  Can you say Cuuute?

Working away on part 2 - The Shoot!
So come back soon, you hear?

  3. What an amazing picnic set -up to launch the perfect day for a photo-shoot. Love those big brothers too. They are essential for a project of this kind and scope! And with a cadre of excited sisters and best friends, what better way to work? Algy? He is one slick photo taker. Bless his objective eye to help showcase all of your beautiful new line! As my husband likes to say.. This is what the camera sees. Period. Objective. Critical. Honest. No touch ups. Algy keeps us standing straight, re-positioning to avoid shadows, re-shooting for better views, and revealing back to our eye what is really there and not in our imagination. Cameras just keep us honest. What a "guy" to have on your side! What a perfect day for KFD to launch!

  6. Oh my, it looks like you all had such a fun time! I just recently found and began following your blog, and goodness.... you have such talent! I am totally going to build myself a walltent on our country property and have my workshop there when I graduate from highschool next spring. :) I've already talked my dad and my brother into doing it. And that Algy is such a master at capturing your creations! I am currently looking to upgrade to a better camera, do you have any suggestions? What make is yours? Are you pleased with it (him, rather)? Here is my blog: http://thecountryhandmaiden.blogspot.com/
Keep up the awesomeness! You are so inspiring!

    God bless,
    Elizabeth
