So happy to announce that the Autumn hair accessory line is now in the shop!  Be sure to go check it out for yourself, and feel free to heart your favorite designs:)

I've been terrible busy lately with life, KFD, and getting ready for winter, but on top of that I'm getting ready to release a brand new project which I've been planning for quite awhile now.  Be on the lookout for the latest surprise form the Wall Tent Studio!
I also just received a dressform, which has me completely enthralled... fully adjustable and pinnable, Rosemary's going to be my right hand in future.  We're planning to dive into a box of luscious wool suitings, denims, and knits which came in the mail the other day:)

Linking up today with Johanna's fashion challenge, day four - something with an autumnal print!  I'm loving my latest thrift store haul, which included this yummy plum wildflower print silk blouse and the perfect gray wool skirt.  Also loving Autumn welly-boot weather!

But most of all loving a promise that has been my strength during a difficult stretch of my journey:

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
--James 1:2-5

The thought that God gives me the trials necessary to shape me perfect and entire is an awesome and marvellous thing.  How deep is His love.

Step back, breathe deeply.  Observe and ponder the very small things.  The things that might be hidden by larger things, more pressing and more loud.  But not necessarily more important.

In fact, those little things often hold the key to a door that was closed, a corner of the mind that was blocked.  Listen.  Ponder.

My automatic response to those days when everything seems stale and unprofitable is a long walk with Algy... I look through his lens and freeze time, not really caring if the picture is truly good or not.  My mind a turmoil of pain or confusion, my eyes seeing nothing but the vastness and coldness of the world.

And every time, my eyes are forced to actually look at the beauty that is surrounding me - patient, magnificent, intricate, waiting to be seen.  I realize anew how precious it is to ponder something in my heart with my future the outcome.
We can't control our futures, but in a way, we can - every choice we make is a direct influence on the rest of our life's journey.  Every thought, every action, is another word or page written in our story.  Shaping us to become the people that we are.

Stepping back, pausing to drag the depths of your soul and examine who you are and what you want to be, choosing to glory in life rather than be overwhelmed by it or escape from it, is not the easy way out.  But when it's past, when you're back on the track and strong in the knowledge of the race before you, it is sweet to say -
It is well.

Outfit | Granny Smith Tart

crocheted collar tee // in the shop  -  tiered denim skirt // in the shop
vanilla & plum felt headband // coming soon!   -  double buckle belt // f21  -  screw-back earrings // my grandmother's, vintage  -  grey felt flats // mossimo supply, thrifted.

.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.:.
I'm absolutely loving this new crocheted collar tee design - I wear one of mine at least twice a week or more.  It combines the wearability of a simple tee with the whimsy of applique and the romance of a lace blouse.

This kelly green number, paired with my classic tiered skirt design and a light brown belt, makes me think of a fresh apple tart with a dash of nutmeg and cream on a graniteware plate.
Which is a rather dangerous train of thought, seeing as there is no apple tart near by to stay my craving.

Something really ought to be done about that.  Perhaps tomorrow.

Wool and What-Not | Preview

I am so excited to share the gorgeous new Fall line of the amazingly talented and beautiful Natasha Marie!

We had a ball the other day shooting our new products together.  I can't get over how scrumptious Tasha's new granny square handbags are!

Which is your favorite?  Mine is the outside of the first bag pictured, because lilac and mauve and cream and a round wooden button are too much to resist.  But I love the lining of the second one - coral pockets!  I adore pockets.

^^ Go check out the 2012 Autumn line from Wool and Whatnot here! ^^
