Lavender Fields

A spur-of-the-moment stop by the Lavender farm during Winnie's visit, late in the afternoon.

As soon as we stepped from the car, the scented air rose around us like a wave and wafted the whole essence of Summer over my senses.  We browsed over the field and snipped bouquets of summer memories, while the bees hummed and the late sun slanted warmly over the world.

I hung a sprig to dry from my tent wall, right by the sewing machine, and even though the mornings are already showing a coolness that betokens a harsher world soon to come, I've been hanging on to that scent and the promise it holds that there is summer always alive - somewhere.

  1. Ahhh, that Lavender from Provence, France was just beautiful! Fragrant, teeming with busy bees, and a rich deep purple, this garden was one of the most beautiful ever! I have been enjoying my cuttings at my desk here in Florida. It was such an unexpected luxury to find!

  8. And I still can't believe that I didn't see Winnie jumping up and down, trying to flag me down, as I sped past to my own theme music. ;D
That lavender field is so lovely - as are these pictures - and it's a shame I don't ever stop by, seeing as it's right next door. lol.

    1. Hi Danaya! I would just say gather elements - colors, images, fonts, that you love and express what you have to offer and play with them till you like it. Have fun!
