March Photo-a-Day | week four

ONE // an abstract shot of sunset over the amusement park meets a little Adam Young.

TWO // spring is in everything.

THREE // love it when a friend holds my camera and I find a cool shot hiding there.  Thanks Alex!

FOUR // building fairy houses by the creek will never grow old.

FIVE // can I just say I love working with these materials?  It's a good thing, too, because approx. 70 yards of tulle went through the studio this week.

SIX // my mother riding a yak.  A Yak named McCloud.

SEVEN // working all day - listening to Peter Hollens, The Proclaimers, and Chris Thile, broken up with an exhilarating run to the top of the mountain and then back to the sewing machine till after dark.  Making plans for the best summer of all time.  Dreaming dreams and thinking deep.
These are the best days of our lives.

  1. What a week surrounded by yards and yards of beautiful Tulle and satin! Your little sister's Fairy house is shaping up to be a grand estate by the creek! I always dreamed of a house with a view of the water. And these certainly are the very best days of our lives. Spring just brings forth so much hope and excitement in it's changes with so many possibilities for being outdoors and soaking up the sunshine with family and friends!

  2. That's your mother riding a yak?? I thought it was a girlfriend. She's so youthful. I'm new to your blog and really enjoy it.

  3. Oh kindred spirit that you are! Kellie, you just flooded my mind with memories of my childhood with the darling fairy house photo!!! I used drag Brigid outdoors with me to go and build fairy houses in our suburban backyard of the wild west of Washington state (the good old days)! There were countless afternoons, whole ones, spent in just using our imaginations to create the most regal looking fairy houses! I always wanted a creek to build by, but had to content myself with very old pines and once, a magnolia tree. Do you know? The gnarly sappy bark of pine trees makes the best walls for sticking on shelves and things. Oh what bliss! I need to dig into my drawers and pull out the very wrinkled little girl that once was Jessica Boyer. I need to build my imagination again, outside!

Oh thank you for sharing such a treasure with us! I hope one day we will travel back out West, and perhaps meet you along the way! It would be so fun! (I am taking a presumptuous stab in the dark, I know, but I hope you agree!)

    Fondly,

    1. Oh, that made me so happy, Jessica! And I would love to meet you all so, so much. Some day, soon, either you all or I need to take a trip and make that happen. It would be beyond amazing to stage a photoshoot of the Boyer Family Singers in the Wall Tent Studio... I'm lovin' the idea:)

  5. I remember the days where my sisters and I built fairy houses! *sigh* The "enchanted" feeling of excitement of making everything just so... The smell of the wet moss and earth...

McCloud! What an absolutely hilarious, uproarious name! And you have been a busy girl with your sewing! You inspire me to be more industrious in my sewing efforts.

    Blessings in Him,
