From the Kitchen | Huckleberry Scones

Huckleberry scones are the epitome of the perfect morning.  I know that if there are hot scones for breakfast, it's going to be a pretty awesome day.  What I can't figure out is why people don't have them for breakfast every day.  Why I don't have them for breakfast every day.
I want every day to be awesome.  Yet I don't make these lovelies every day... something's lost in the equation.

I guess that's what determining-to-have-an-awesome-day-on-jumping-out-of-bed is for.  That and Singing Oh, Happy Day at the top of your lungs.

For those days when you're fresh out of huckleberries.

  1. Love!!!!!! My sister likes putting dried cherries in her scones with just a little bit of almond flavoring, and they're excellent! I shall have to try to convince her to put huckleberries in some time! :)

  3. Alas! We have yet to go huckleberry-picking (shocking, I know), so until then we'll just have to substitute raisins or dried cranberries.

Interesting that you used sour cream in your recipe. I'll have to try it!
Thanks for sharing! These sound yummy.

  7. Tom - dried cranberries sound amazing, too!

Winnie - yes, scones really work perfectly regardless of the clock. They're awesome like that:) I think you need to sample some huckleberry goodness sometime soon... I'll see what I can do about that:)

Kimberley - I absolutely recommend Etsy! I am actually planning a little post sharing what few things I've learned along the way and helpful links, so be on the lookout for that. Having an Etsy shop is a wonderful experience.

Kellie! That sounds weird! Thanks so much for stopping by - you're actually the first K-E-L-L-I-E I've ever crossed paths with, so that's quite special...
You have a marvelous day too, Kellie-with-an-ie! We have the best name ever - just sayin';)
