Which Austen Heroine are You?

Lizzy Bennett, Emma Woodhouse, Anne Elliott... all our favorite heroines from the pages of Jane's great classics have been making the rounds in force during the LH Blog Party!

Last year, I shared the Blakeney Manor personality quiz, and we had a smashing time sharing our results in the comments!  This year, I thought would be fun to put the Austen Heroines in the limelight.
(Feel free to take the Scarlet Pimpernel test as well and share your result!)

So go ahead and visit the quiz, fill it out (many of you have doubtless done so many a time:), and see who your match is!

My result:
"You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things.
You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed."

I come out as Elizabeth about seven times out of ten, with Elinor filling in the rest.  Hmm...

  1. I just took the quiz and found out I am most like Elinor Dashwood. :) Yay!

  3. I've taken this test numerous times, and I'm always Elizabeth Bennet. :) No surprise there...

  4. I'm actually the opposite of you. Usually I'm Elinor Dashwood, but since I don’t like her I always take the quiz until I come out as someone else (it's always Elizabeth Bennet)
I'd never taken the Blakeney Manor quiz, so I took it. I came out as Margaurite, which is interesting as I don't think I'm much like her. But then, I'm not like anyone in The Scarlet Pimpernel!

  5. I am Elizabeth Bennet too! I dare say that I have a bit of Elinor in me, though.

  8. I've taken it multiple times...I always get Elinor. Well, almost always. I have, on occasion, gotten Catherine Moreland :)

  9. Well this time I came out as Elinor Dashwood...and then I changed the answer to one question and came out as Elizabeth. I always swing between those two, as well. In reality, I think I'm more like a combination of Elizabeth, Marianne, and Emma....which, of course, the quiz doesn't allow for. ;)

  10. Hmmmm I got Elizabeth Bennet too. Is this thing rigged? LOL

  11. I took this a few years ago and came up Elinor. Retook it just now, and I'm still Elinor. And here I thought I was Anne Elliot! Shows how much I know, eh? ;-)

  12. I have taken the test a couple of times and it says I'm Elinor Dashwood. She's rather fitting, so It didn't suprise me at all.

  13. When I took the quiz I came out as Catherine Morland. I guess I need to read Northanger Abbey.

  15. I got Elinor again! :) I always get Elinor Dashwood. In some aspects I am like her, but I have not so much sense as Elinor. (But I suppose few do.)How nice that you're Lizzy Bennet!

  17. I came out as Elinor the one time I took it; but I must say I did not like the quiz very much, because many of the questions are kind of... obvious. When you want to genuinely answer as yourself, you very often can't, because the answers are so very, very closely tied to the characters themselves and their specific situation in life. It works as "which Austen heroine would you most likely choose to be", rather than "which Austen heroine are you most like". Two different things in my book...

    1. I completely agree - I wish the questions weren't so obviously tied to the characters. While it's super fun to fill out, it's a bit style cramping:) I want to make one myself for next year, including all of our favorite literary heroines. We'll see, but it's on my list;D

  18. I am consistently Elinor Dashwood, which doesn't surprise me in the least. Although, in real life I am actually a combination of Elinor and Elizabeth Bennet, my Elinor side manifests itself more.

  19. I am almost always Elinor Dashwood which makes sense with the questions that they ask. Like someone else said, i am a combination of Elinor and Elizabeth Bennet.

  20. I come out as Elizabeth Bennet every, single, time. And yes, I agree, the answers can be a bit obvious. It was funny, my brother took this quiz one time (brothers... :) and he came out as Fanny Price!! Which is interesting because he has not read/watched all the Jane Austen stories I have, so he was really able to answer the questions honestly without knowing which characters they were linked to. He will never hear the end of it from my sister and I. :D

    1. That is hilarious! I should make my brothers take the quiz!

  21. Huh. I got Marianne Dashwood this time. Usually I get Elizabeth Bennett. Fascinating.

I agree with Hana-Marmota that the questions are too obvious. In fact, I was thinking, reading her comment, that someone ought to make a quiz that allowed us to be ourselves while filling it out. You read my mind, dear! ;-) That would be fun if you could create your own quiz.

And I came out as Marguerite Blakeney in the Scarlet Pimpernel quiz. *Shrug* Someday I need to read the books....

    Thanks for the fun!
    God bless,
