February Photo-a-Day | Week One

One // sunset over the garden

Two // the newly bloomed amaryllis by lamplight

Three // how to clean a wool rug (the snow must be just right: thick dry powder, freshly fallen)

the dog gets the same treatment.

Four // Tiger, and the clean rug drying in the sun

Five // working on the plumbing in -10° f

Six // table still life - the blow drier is our lifeline when something needs to be thawed out.

Seven // practice, practice, practice.  Also, sis made her blouse and vest.

Eight // oh yes, oh yes, it's the big february swing dance!  Best ever.

Last week was long and cold and exhausting, to be frank.  The temperatures dropped to 20 below and colder with the whipping wind, the pipes froze, and when we finally got them running again, the drains were ice too.  Five days of battling the plumbing made us that much more thankful for the beautiful sight of hot water disappearing down the tub drain at last.

Thankful for good friends with helping hands.  Thankful for the weekend, which brought fabulous dancing and a sleepover with Tasha afterword to discuss all the details.  Imperative.

Now, it's full steam ahead for the Literary Heroine Blog Party.  Excited?  I sure am!

  1. These are all so lovely, Kellie! Tiger on the rug, and your reflection in the window are my favorites...oh, except for that last one. That's the best of them all! Best dance ever!! ;D

Yes, indeed - thank goodness for hairdryers!!

  4. The photo of you working in the frigid cold on plumbing says volumes of the impact of this winter. Tough work. Juxtapose that against the last photo of the dance and it doesn't seem like the same place. A week of polar opposites. Literally!

  5. I've said this once before, but I'm really enjoying this photo a day thing. Captions with the pictures is easier to read, too. Love the "tiger and rug drying out" photo and caption!

  6. Each photo shares the joys and struggles of your week so well.... lovely. And swing dances? They are simply charming. The joy that rushes through one's heart as they twirl about and swing till their feet are sore... what bliss!

    Blessings,

  9. Gah!! Twenty below--that's obscene. :-P But on the upside, at least you have a nice warm house to protect you from those frigid temps! (And I must say, your Tiger-cat is adorable, as are your sister's blouse and vest!)

Counting the days till the LHBP...and hoping the weather will permit us to accept your gracious invitation to the next swing dance! :-D

    God bless,
