Hello friends!

It's so good to be home!  We flew back Monday, and on arrival I found that an enormous thunderstorm had taken down the internet, so I had an extended enforced computer break...:)
However, we're good to go now, and there's a million and one things to do and share!  I've hit the ground running this week, and it will be all I can do to get half of it done.  Optimistic. . . that's me.

But first things first.  And this is the first thing I saw in my inbox this morning, and it's something that's fabulous news for both me and you!

Pross Tchai

Pross-Tchal (Goodbye-Goodbye) by The Andrews Sisters on Grooveshark

Unexpectedly, suddenly, I'm going on a trip.  It's seems like this is becoming a regular feature!

It's down to California to help my dad with some work again, and this time it looks like it's going to be about eleven days.  Two of my sisters and I are flying down tomorrow morning.  Work gloves and sun hats will be requisite.

Which means:
1. Algy and I must part.  Goodbye, dearest one, goodbye!  Carry-ons are $60. *choke*  So it's a very small handbag for me!
2. I only have room for one book. *panicked look*  I can't decide between Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen, or Mark Twain... sigh.  One extra book, I should say.  Bible and journal go whithersoever I goest.  Who needs an iPhone? Hehe...
3. I will miss you all So. Much.
4. Tasha will again be chatelaine of Accordion to Kellie in my absence, moderating comments and keeping the air conditioning running.  Thanks, dear!
5. I'm running around like a madwoman washing and packing and crossing lists, yet I still found myself behind Algy's lens with daisies, roadmaps, and a vintage suitcase for this post.  We're all mad here.

And #6....
So you won't miss me too much while I'm away, I'm hosting a really, really fun giveaway!
Do you like adorable clothes?  Accessories?
How about a gift card to ModCloth???  Yes?

Sounds good to me!
Stay tuned - goodbye, goodbye, Pross Tchai!

As always, I've left the key in the lock, so be sure to drop by as usual and make yourselves at home here!

Our Fourth

Tasha's adorable Bonnie dog...
Independence Day was quiet and sweet for my family.  A BBQ at our house - with an early evening walk before and a rather hysterical photoshoot involving large and beautifully rusty heavy equipment.
This girl is simply too adorable.
make your own gif
Not to mention, a great sport:D  Love you, Tasha!
Back to the Barbecue...
The friends, family, and fellowship, the red white blue and hot dogs is great.
The history of our Nation's birth and heritage is grand.

But most of all, I'm celebrating the freedom I and my family have in Christ, which can never be taken away and that will never die.
May we always remember those who gave their lives that we can enjoy all that we've been blessed with today.  And may we always be faithful to stand up for what is right, regardless of the cost, so that our children can thank the memory of our stand for truth also.
Our fire pit rack was handcrafted by a local welder - it's such a great BBQ tool!
Badminton time!
Hope your Fourth was filled with fun, family, and thankfulness, wherever you live!
(almost two gallons of homemade chocolate ice cream didn't hurt, either!)
