What orange said

Outfit Details:
tulle skirt by Kellie Falconer
top, cardi, belt are thrifted
scarf made by me (I hemmed it later that day...)
glitter flats from ModCloth
anchor bracelet by KJP

New for the shop - The KFD tulle skirt in clementine.

I don't understand orange very well - I had to do some translating to put together this ensemble.  But what I found orange telling me was this.

"Celebrate color!  Delight in texture!  Embrace Spring and be bold and eat sherbet and don't be afraid to show your flamboyant side."

And I just had to say yes.

What does this outfit say to you?

  1. Oh my goodness this is wonderful! My university's colours were Orange and Black and I so wish I'd had this for events when we were required to wear our colours (I was in choir and it was way too often!)! I haven't been able to bring myself to wear more than little pops of orange since I left school, but I'm really digging what orange is saying here!

  2. Hi Kellie. I'm Paige's mom, Lisa, and orange is my favorite color and that skirt is so delicious! I would totally buy one if I had the extra cash. You look lovely in It! I have an orange linen skirt and I never would have thought of putting a green cardi with it. Now I have a new way to style it. Thanks for the inspiration. :-)

  5. It says "Ever so bright and beautiful. A tropical ice-cream parlor decorated in gorgeous summer blooms and smelling of fresh sherbet and roses." Quite a bit of a ramble, I know, but like you said: orange can be very hard to understand ;)

  6. This color combination is THE BOMB! Oh yeh! It rings out bold, sassy, fun, and Caribbean to me. How about a pineapple drink down by the marina before dinner? Hmmm, I wonder what the catch of the day is?
