I've been in a creative slump - a blogging rut, if you will. The funny thing is, I've noticed that many of the authors of the blogs I read and enjoy have been commenting on the same thing.
I think it's got something to do with the January blahs... Christmas is a whole year away, New Year's sparkle and freshness has gone just a bit stale, and yearned-for Spring seems so impossibly far off.
I think it's high time we all banded together and did something about this.
So I'm declaring it party time here at Accordion to Kellie!
Everyone's invited... so please help me spread the invitation! Here's the badge:

And now, for the party. Just copy and paste the questions below and answer them on your blog, including the image above in the post, then link up to your post in the linky below.

Ooh, so lovely mi'dear! I hate creative ruts... I will certainly be joining in this lovely party!
ReplyDeleteAs for which items I would select... as many of your lovely Whovian designs as I could lay my hands on! :D They're simply lovely. Also, I do so love your "Hello, my name is Cecily Cardew". Classy!
:D
Thanks for this party!
Aww! What a lovely idea! :) thank you for hosting such a lovely event! I love the striped (Beth) compact mirror! :)
ReplyDeleteI really love your Vintage Girls buttons. Really cute!
ReplyDeleteWhoop!! Just ordered a few buttons for a friend and for myself. These are just so much fun. And with a discount, even better!! I would say that the best thing about January is that it offers us that feeling of down time. The fall and holiday season are full of energy and things to do. Blessed January is when we have time for reflection and a smaller list of "to do". Since I am not much on new year resolutions, I view January as a time that we can both set new goals that make sense to us or just do nothing. Sometimes a rut is necessary to explore where you wish to go next in your life. Without downtime or "rut time", we can get complacent and unmotivated. Keeping on the same track never leads to growth. Stepping off the track leads to ruts, but ruts make us change and push hard to get back on track. Hopefully new tracks that feel exciting and fresh are where we find ourselves in February!
ReplyDeleteI like the "Dream" and "Smile" and "Sew" mirrors/pins... and, of course, the Doctor Who themed ones!
ReplyDeleteBTW, one of those colours available for the felt cases is "dark plum" - I'm wondering, what colour exactly that is? Wondering because I've encountered VERY different approaches to "plum" as colour!
Whee! This is fun. :) I've noticed the same thing with the blogs I follow. I love the Tag questions you've created. They're different than most of the tags I've done.
ReplyDeleteI know this was your last post but, I can't imagine what it would be like to wake up with frozen hair! *Shu-reek!* How long did it take to thaw out?
Cheers!
Brilliant idea, Dahling! What better way to bring a little life and sunshine into the dreary January days than a Blog Party?
ReplyDeleteGiven the chance, I'd probably choose a custom-designed compact mirror, in a purple case!
God bless, and thanks again for the cheer-up!
~"Tom"~
P.S.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite design is either the "Hello, my name is" badges (so much nicer than those sticker-kind), or the Custom option for both the pins and mirrors.
~"TWR"~
Well I don't have a blog... but I'll answer the questions just for fun! :)
ReplyDelete1) Grab my camera and go outside.
2) I always enjoy watching The Piano Guys online. :)
3) Eat comfort food -- usually Greek yogurt or a salad with lots of safflower oil and nuts.
4) White tea. Best. Ever.
5) Running.
6) My labrador puppy, Bob.
7) Oh my. :D "How Great Thou Art" and some song that describes a CRAZY and inSANE life. lol
8) Finish my 2012 yearly scrapbook.
9) Hem all the jean skirts sitting in my closet. :P
10) You can't just follow your heart because your heart can be deceived, you goota LEAD your heart. (Fireproof)
11) The best thing about January is a new beginning.
12) The worst thing about January is six degrees F.
13) What's your #1 resolution for 2013? Get well!
14) I just finished memorizing Ecclesiastes 3:1-11. I love that the passage portrays life so meaningless yet so so so important. It's all...nothing, yet, everything we have. :)
Good luck Kellie with your blog party! :)
Love you.
Em
Thanks for playing, Em! I so enjoyed your answers.

ReplyDelete~Kristin
Ahem...nevermind. :) Third time is the charm, it seems.
DeleteThe Audrey Hepburn "Smile" button is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun. I'm going to get around to answering the questions when I get the time to get the blog post typed up but for right now I'd like to enter the giveaway. My favorite design would be between the Nancy Drew designs, and pretty much all of your vintage girls designs. I don't think I could narrow it down to just one though. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour Doctor Who buttons are really quite fantastic. :)
