Mother | a photo story + a shop special.

"Which one's the Mother?"  It's been a private joke for years that someday, someone will say that to us as my mom, sisters and I walk down the street.

This photoshoot was, as you might imagine, way too much fun and so very special.  My mother has burned midnight oil for countless hours sewing matching dresses for all of the girls in years past, and this time, it was my turn.

One of the things I love about these skirts is the fact that they're so easily adaptable to such a variety of age ranges and personal styles... their timeless shapes and patterns let you achieve a beautiful classic look effortlessly.

Have you ever had a matching mother/daughter outfit?  What was it like?  I can't wait to hear!

  2. Your mother has glorious richness of hair! I hope my hair will be that gorgeous after I'm "grown up." You both really do look beautifully ageless! I get the same thing from other people about my mom, sisters and I! ;)

  5. Methinks your Rose Skirt is my favorite item to date, lass--it's just so pretty and Spring-y! And what fun that you and your mother can both wear it. :-)

Mom and I have such different colorings that we don't often do the matchy-matchy thing. However, we have had a couple mother-daughter dresses in the past, in colors we both looked good in. One set--I think I was in my early to mid-teens at the time--was printed with emerald green leaves and bright red berries. We made them both princess-seamed, with white eyelet collars--so pretty!
The second set (which we still have) is navy with a multicolored Paisley design. Mom's is princess-seamed, and mine has a more 1940s vibe. Both have tulip sleeves, and we made them to wear to the Grandparents' 60th Anniversary...yikes! Nine years ago come September! :-O

    God bless,
    ~"Tom"~

  6. Love this post! I can see where you get your beautiful thick hair and gorgeous skin!!

I don't think I had matching outfits with my mom (with sisters most definitely) but my mom and I DO look a lot alike and we've been asked if we were sisters lots of times. Love it!
